IMPORTANT - IMPORTANT - IMPORTANT

for U.S. Vets with TBI

Bolingbrook VFW Post 5917 is requesting modification to its grant from the State of Illinois to study of the use of hyperbaric treatment (oxygen under pressure) in the TREATMENT of TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). This study is being conducted by August Martinucci, M.D. and Ronalt Holt, M.D. at the Midwest Hyperbaric Institute, P.C. in Bolingbrook, IL. The study provides a course of 40 hyperbaric sessions and gather results as to its effect on the healing of damaged brain tissues. There is strong reason to believe that this approach is very successful.

VFW Post 5917 is seeking to modify the orginally approved grant which is limited to U.S. Afganistan and Iraq war veterns to include any U.S. veteran diagnosed with service connected TBI (or who has reason to believe that he/she sustained TBI which has been undiagnosed). The Post is seeking such persons who would be willing to be evaluated for participation in the study. They would be expected to participate in the full treatment protocol if they fit the criteria as set up for this program.

If you know of veteran who is known or suspected to be suffering from service conneted TBI, please have them contact the post at VFWPost5917@sbcglobal.net.

The Post 1288 Legion Application "Car Flyer" has been updated for 2008.
If you are not in Post 1288, here is a car flyer you can use.

Keep a couple of copies handy in your car in case you see another Vet's car in a parking lot (Vet licence plates, vet stickers, etc. are good indicators). Stick a flyer under the windshield wiper.

Free Videoconferencing for certain Iraq locations.
Judy Biggert's office needs help contacting families of service personnel in several specific locations in Iraq about free videoconferencing opportunity. Please see her message (in PDF format) HERE
